My favorites: From Levi's to Movie's, Baby Diapers, Baby wipes & Diets

This blog is going to be interesting. I have decided to write about a variety of favorite things. Starting with my favorite hip hugger Levi jeans to my favorite Baby diapers & baby wipes for my newest grandchild to some movies I've seen recently and yes Diets. lol

So here goes.....

My favorite jeans are Levi's, namely hip huggers. I have had this one pair of Levi hip huggers for quite some time now and they are really showing some major wear... lol. I have repaired these favorite Levi jeans probably way too many times. Now I have lost 32 lbs over the past few months and well they have become too big for me. The main problem with this is, I cannot find the same type of Levi hip huggers, as I am sure they are no longer made, since most products continue to change over time and well I have had this particular pair for a good many year. Now I'm not afraid to change mind you, but when you find something that works, well you just want to stay with it, right?

So now I am on a search for a new pair or two of hip hugger jeans, yeah preferably Levi's... but I guess if I have to go outside the box to find a pair that fits the way I want, I'll have to try several brands. The one thing I hate about shopping is that every different brand of clothing is different as to sizes. Say your a size 14, well some brands a size 14 is now a size 16/18, while another brand is a size 12. .. so sometimes you never know what size you really are. Thats so crazy!!! But with so many fashion changes, it seems that size does matter. You may be a size 10 or 12 and be considered a plus size. That totally makes no sense at all to me. So now that I do not know what size I really am, I will be starting my search soon for a new pair of hip hugger jeans. Levi's or whatever brand that fits right.

NEXT....

I am just gonna jump on in there on the DIETS mode. Since I have lost 32 pounds over the past 4 months. Over the years I have tried a variety of diet types since I turned 42 and well my body has not cooperated with me as to weight issues. lol. I did not start gaining weight til I hit 40, and after that age it got harder to lose. uuggghhhhh. Yep & that sucks.

Yes we all know that diets are different for everyone. So this is just my opinion....

I have tried Slim Fast, Sensa, HCG diet, Atkins and well so on....

My favorite has been overall, SLIM FAST!

The HCG + B12 diet yes has worked as long as you stick to a 500-800 calorie diet. Which is great for a short period of time, but overall you really cannot stick to that without it really affecting your health.

The atkins diet, well I just don't see how someone can stick to a major protein diet.

Ok, then there is the Sensa diet, OMG this was totally the worst diet and most costly diet I have tried, did I say WORST!! just horrible horrible and I lost only 3 pounds in a 3 month period. I have a strong willpower and am able to stick to a diet and resist temptation, but this diet totally did not work at all!!! Now I know that not all diets work for everyone, but definately the Sensa diet was one of the worst & most expensive diets ever. I would never recommend it to anyone EVER!!

Now the Slim Fast diet. I have done once before and it worked, but before trying it again I decided to try some others and well most were flops. The hcg did help me lose some weight and I did like it, but you can only do it so long.... But the Slim Fast diet overall is the most effective.

I am one of those people who totally hate vegetables (unless cooked in stews) I just cannot eat raw veggies, but fruits, I totally love.. well except I cannot have strawberries since I am highly allergic to them. But watermelon, oranges, red grapes, red apples, pineapples I just totally LOVE THEM!!! So Overall the Slim Fast diet wins out for me...

NEXT...

Baby Diapers. My newest grandson is almost 4 months old. We have tried several brands of diapers, but Overall for us, the HUGGIE's little snugglers is #1, then Huggie's snug & dry is right behind it.
So hands down HUGGIE's Diapers are the BESTEST!!

But as for baby wipes, well the very best is PAMPERS thick care. They are the strongest and the very best. We have tried so many kinds and some were too thin, tear, or just plain smell bad. But PAMPER's Thick Care unscented is the BEST!!

NEXT... Recent Movies.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Good Movie, I loved how it showed how the Apes had evolved and became independent. This was a good movie, and very touching in so many ways.

The Green Hornet
This was a good movie, they put it together really well. It was a really good Superhero Action/Comedy.

Just Go with it
I like Adam Sandler, he is good in Romantic Comedies. Jennifer Aniston has also shown herself to do well in Romantic Comedies. This was a pretty good movie.

Limitless
OK, well first off I am a Big Fan of Bradley Cooper, so I would have seen this movie even if it was a flop. But I think it was a great movie. It really makes you think about the power of drugs on one's body. Who wouldn't want the ability to be a super human. I'd love to be able to do and accomplish all that this drug made a person capable of doing.
This is a Definate MUST SEE!

The Kings Speech
I originally just went to see this movie because of all the hype and well also because of Colin Firth. Then the movie drew me in with its wonderful characters and story of overcoming difficultly no matter who you are.
I will definately buy this movie and it was so deserving of all its awards it received. This movie was well done and Colin Firth again shows what an amazing actor he is.

Source Code
I really did not know what to expect with this movie, and it totally threw me for a loop with its ending. The way it shows us what technology may be capable of. I truly believe that technology has come a long way and I am so amazed at the thought of how far technology may be able to take us.

Water for Elephants
I am a big Reese Witherspoon fan, this was a good movie. The good & bad of the Benzini Circus of 1931. Robert Patterson was better than I thought he would be. Overall a good romantic drama.

Bridesmaids
Ok this movies is a Great movie. I went in thinking I probably wasn't going to like it much and that all the best parts were probably shown during the commercials, but it is a really funny movie and you will enjoy it.

X-Men: First Class
I wasn't sure how this movie was going to pan out. I basicly went onbly to get a glimpse of the bit part of Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and it was a bit part. But this movie kept your interest. I love X-Men and I loved the story on how it all began. This was a terrific movie and I so love the story line of how it all started.

Green Lantern
Well first off Ryan Reynolds. lol. I was not sure if he would fit the bill of a superhero. But he played this part well. This is more that just a superhero movie, its got some really good funny parts in it as well.

Captain America: The First Avenger
I though another superhero movie. But it was good, I loved the story line and the Character. Touching and great story. I really was not sure how this movie was going to be done, but its was done well.

Our Idiot Brother
Ok at first I thought this is gonna be one stupid movie. But it was a touching movie. None of us are perfect and all of us see the world in a different way. It was wonderful to see. To me it wasn't an idiot brother, it was someone who just saw things a little differently than the rest of us, and was honest in expressing himself. I Loved this movie, it will make you laugh & make you cry.

Apollo 18
This is one of the WORST movies since the Blair Witch Project movie...
I would not recommend this movie to anyone. Yes some parts make you think, but overall a horrible movie.

Moneyball
I only went to see this movie bacause I am a big baseball fan and I wanted to see if this movie was good. I did not really like the ending much but it was portrayed actually to evnets, so that is what made this movie good. Brad Pitt in this movie reminded me alot of Robert Redford. This was a really good movie.

The Help
I would HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND everyone see this movie. There have been so many changes over the years. There are alot of people who are prejudice against those who are not like them. Grow up people! We are ALL Human. I loved this movie alot. A must see for all.

ok thats it for movies, as everyone knows I am a BIG BIG movie nut and go nearly every weekend, so I could go on forever about movies. Plus having many friends in the movie industry I tend to really study movies and scrutinzie mistakes and bloopers, lol.

..................

So this blog is done for tonight and I go on my search for new jeans soon.. But will hold onto my favorite pair of Levi's even though they have come about as far as they can .... and hope I can find a suitable replacement for them soon... Oh my wonderful pair of Hip Hugger Levi's how you will be missed!

Adventures in the land of Taz...

Well its almost the end of May... What happened to Spring. The temps have stayed cold, oh a few warm days, but overall alot of cold days!! I mean come-on, summer is just 30 days away and we really have not had alot of springtime temps.. But, I have enjoyed some nice walks down our Country road and even had some neighbors horses come to the road to visit with me...

.
.

Lots of people have complaints about how bad their lives are, etc. Hey my life is not perfect, but then again, whose is? No one's life is perfect unless you live in fantasy land... If life were easy all the time, heck it would be boring. Besides what is the famous saying, "What doesn't kill you, Makes you stronger". I totally believe that. Most of us don't like our jobs, or sometimes our life. But all I can say is. GET OVER IT, MOVE ON!! If you can't move past the bad things in your life that happen, you will never be happy!

For those of you who truly know me, then you know I just speak my Mind. Not in a hurtful way, but straight forward and honest. I just cannot stand fake or dishonest people. But one thing I don't ever believe in is hating people. Our world is already full of hateful & prejudice people. "Why can't we all just get along" lol.

I think I was born in the wrong time. I love the old clothing, the simple ways of life and morals. People just don't have morals anymore. I recently decided to try a dating site, yeah that was a laugh... either somoene was looking for "Friends with Benefits" or "Sugar Mama" or a "Cougar" .. what ever happen to actually having a meaningful relationship. The dating, dinner, a movie, walks in the park, road trips sight seeing, holding hands, or just plain old hanging out. In this day and age of so many diseases why would people not take precautions? I mean seriously, I want to know a person before I get into a serious relationship with them. I want to know who they really truly are, deep down inside. Who their family & friends are, etc...

Am I wrong to want this. I mean well I'm not getting any younger. Heck I know I'm not some super model, but I sure am happy with who I am and how I look and I am Healthy & Happy. I know everyone has different tastes in what they are attracted to and it doesn't hurt my feelings if someone says I'm not their type. I have my preferences too, so truly understand others have their own preferences or tastes.

I just think our world needs to wake up!! Seriously wake up and see just how downhill society is going. The lack of Morals and lack of Love for one another is getting out of control...

I know that I will continue to do my part and help those I am able. Will you?

.
.
.
.
OK onto happier subjects and lifes daily adventures...
.
.

Easter was awesome, my oldest son enjoys dressing up for special occasions for his 3 children. I love that he dresses up as the easter bunny & santa claus for his children. Growing up I remember my mom's brother, my Uncle Joe, he used to dress up as Santa Claus every years. The memories of those times stay with me. As we got older, we realized it was Uncle Joe, but it didn't matter, because we knew he wanted to make our Christmases special. That is what made it even more special to me.

.
.

Mothers day this year was wonderful too. Spent the day at my son-in-laws families home, we did a big bbq, the temps actually agreed with us and warmed to the low 70's made it a great day. My very pregnant daughter and her husband did the bbq'ing for all of us. I was really hoping that she would have gone into labor on Mothers day, that would have been AWESOME. But it did not happen. As of today, we are still awaiting my new grandson's arrival, she is due May 25th. But is definately more than ready for Xander to come into the world.

Around the World, well sorta...

Its been well over a year since I last found the time to write on here. Oh I've done some writing, but nothing anyone could read, lol...

So many things have happened since last I wrote...
Being laid off work gave me time to do alot of things. Sometimes you wonder where the time flies to, because i still can't beleive how long its been since I last wrote a blog.

Well, after I got laid off work I moved to San Diego. I really loved it there, but unfortunately the unemployment there is horrible too. With my mom's health deteriating I decided to move to MI to be close to my mom, my children/grandchildren.

But I had one helluva fun time visiting friends along my journies traveling across country.

Visiting so many states - Las Vegas, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and well of course Michigan... I love driving and sightseeing, so this was a marvelous adventure of alot of miles, but also alot of friends that I visited along the way.

Well there is my journey across many miles...

Life is an Adventure, and I plan on enjoying every bit of the ride!

I also want to thank my many friends who I have known over the years and through many walks of life for being an inspiration ....

Thank you to:

.
.
.

Growing up, my favorite books were “Where the wild things are” and “Dr Suess Books”.

Books bring a child’s imagination alive. It helps them create who they will become!

I know it brought my imagination to life as a child, and with my parents permission I drew & painted animated characters on my bedroom walls and I loved it.

I did the same for my children when they were young. I let them pick what characters they wanted. It was so fun. Plus my children remember it to this day and they are now 23, 25 & 27. It left a lasting impression on them. How cool is that.

.
.

Some children just don’t want to read. I had a son who was that way, it took a while to figure why he did not want to read his work for school or read period. I finally just asked him after months of why will you not read your books we get you?
His answer was a simple one, “that is not what I want to read”. Wow, how easy was that.

Open communication is a big key to reading too.

So when I took my son to the library again to get books, I let him pick what he was interested in reading, IT WORKED!! He was reading what he found of interest and it helped improve his reading at school as well.

Plus, instead of me always reading to my children, I let them take turns reading to me their books. It was so much fun seeing them grow with knowledge.

This is why I am writing about “Big Universe” & how important it is for children!

.
.
.

Big Universe has so many wonderful Books & Programs for your child to learn from. One of the books to share with your children today to let them know that they can be anything that they want to be! http://www.biguniverse.com/readkidsbooks/read/36/dm

Reading with children from a young age encourages early literacy, this is essential in everyday life, for young and old. The earlier that you start reading with your child the better.

It is vital to read to your child at least 15 minutes a day. As the old saying goes “children learn by example”. So be an example to your child or grandchild. Show them that reading is important and FUN!

.

November is National Novel Month

.
.

The Month of November is National Novel Month, so I will be promoting several of my friends who have written books.
.
.
.

Pamela Glasner's Book FINDING EMMAUS - The Lodestarre (Series)

I have read this book & what a wonderful tantilizing road trip it takes you on.

You cannot help but be drawn into the books settings & storyline. It was just release Oct 1, 2009 & has already become a big hit.

Its about how the psychiatric community has confused Empathic personality traits with mental illness with tragic results. Pamela S. K. Glasner’s dark historical fantasy, Finding Emmaus, book one of The Lodestarre series, takes the reader on a harrowing 350-year fictional yet factual journey through the history of treatment for the mentally ill, eventually exposing a multi-billion dollar conspiracy between the US Food and Drug Administration and the pharmaceutical industry.

The story is simultaneously experienced through the lives of two Empaths—one in the 17th century, the other in 21st— otherwise ordinary people who risk everything to save millions of people who’ve been ostracized from society and victimized because they are mistakenly labeled mentally ill.

I couldn't put the book down as I was reading it, it keeps you mesmerized & drawn in.

Life's Playground

It has been a while since I wrote a new blog, so here I am.

First off, My mom has been in the hospital for 8 weeks. She is a feisty 84yr old who has cancer but tries not to let it slow her down. She got an infection in her legs & feet that look something like the flesh eating disease. She had to be placed on strong IV antibiotics until the infection is gone, plus regular cleaning & care of her feet & legs. There is not alot that we can do, just hope the infection does not come back (this is the 2nd time in a year). But with her immune system the way it is due to the 3 forms of cancer she is fighting, she has come a long ways in the last 3yrs of fighting this. She refuses anymore treatments as its throughout most of her body, but she also will not give up.

As a Cancer survivor myself of 10 yrs and watching my father die from cancer when I was 14 yrs old. Well I know she is a fighter & survivor as well. But Please I ask if everyone would keep her in your prayers. I plan to head back to San Diego at the end of November.

I have been quite busy with twitter & facebook helping post information for Love Without Boundaries charity of which I am the Volunteer Twitter Coordinator & work to help spread the word on all the needs of so many wonderful children. LWB provides the most loving and compassionate help possible to orphaned and impoverished children in China. We provide humanitarian aid in five key areas - Education, Foster Care, Healing Homes, Medical, and Orphanage Assistance. To visit LWB & learn more: www.lovewithoutboundaries.com

Two wonderful women of Love Without Boundaries:

Amy Eldridge who is Executive Director of Love Without Boundaries. She is a mom of seven beautiful children & is passionate about adoption. Amy strives to live a life of total kindness. She is a very Loving & Beautiful Woman who is one of the Kindest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Karen Maunu is the Full-time volunteer Associate Executive Director of Love Without Boundaries and mom to five wonderful children. Karen is so Awesome. I enjoy our regular phone chats & hearing of the new children who have been helped through the many programs LWB provides. She is one of the Most Amazing Women I have ever known, her work & dedication is extrordinary.

I also try to support a number of other charities & post information about them on Twitter & Facebook.

Kathy Ireland who helps find solutions for families, especially busy moms & one of her charities Alliance for Christian Education that is a non-sectarian 501c3 charity that helps all kids get superb education. How wonderful is that!! So please take the time to visit its site & help if you are able. What a Worthy cause.

Another wonderful person I love helping promote:

So go visit her site & check out all she has to offer: http://marielhemingway.com

Another Terrific Person:
Lydia Cornell who is a Radio host, a writer, a comedienne, mom, wife, & activist. She is an amazing & talented, a very loving woman with a terrific heart of gold.
Her Radio show is very informative and discuss current hot button topics in an open and thought provoking forum. I would love to go on there & talk about the charities I support & how Twitter & facebook helps in getting information out there to the public. Now that would be awesome.

And a Cause so Dear to my heart & family:
Jeff Chancellor who is President & CEO of the Cancer Warrior Coalition. Who is working to build a cancer therapy and research center in Texas. What a wonderful company helping so many in the fight against cancer.

I also have been so Proud of my youngest son who attends EMU in Ypsilanti, MI. He graduates soon & hosts his own radio show called Rainbow Sounds every Sunday from 3-5pm/est. So please if your close to your computer go to www.eagleradio.org & listen to him. He has talked about some of the charities I help promote on his show & is such a blessing in my life. He & his partner Rodney are so wonderful. I will be visiting with them for a couple weeks before I head back to San Diego. I am so looking forward to some of Rodneys bbq ribs, LOL. He promised he would cook them for me. My mouth is already watering just thinking about it.

So right now I am in the process of helping my daughter & son-in-law move to CA too. So much to do to help them get rid of things & downsize. The temps in MI have been colder than usual so early in October, so I can't wait to get back to CA. lol.

Well folks that is my blog for today, lol. Yes, I am still looking for work & would be thrilled if I found something that allowed me to help others or co-host a radio show (yes I have done that, lol) or work online doing the things I love. I miss working & loved being an Administrative Assistant.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog. Please feel free to leave me a comment & let me know what you think.

Remember Life is our playground, so enjoy every bit of the ride!

Love & Blessings to all.
